HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Height of expression in the art of Kuchipudi
Mayukha Sirineni is a sophomore at Dougherty Valley High School.
She was introduced to dancing at the tender age of five through Ballet.
She started learning the classical dance form Kuchipudi, at the age of six. Since then, she has participated in several solo and group performances and won many awards and accolades.
In spite of her young age, Mayukha has achieved great depth of understanding and height of expression in the art of Kuchipudi, under the able guidance of renowned artists, Guru Sri Jai Kishore Mosalikanti and Guru Samidha Satyam. She has placed in various cultural competitions such as OSAAT, Yuva Bharati, Saptami, and Maithry. Recently, Mayukha was selected to perform in the National Competition at Silicon Andhra Annamaya Jayanthi.
For Mayukha, dance is more than a hobby; it is a passion. As a co-founder of the Non-profit organization “I Can Can You”, she has organized and performed several fundraising events for the education of those in impoverished areas. She has danced at several old-age care homes and orphanages to spread her love for dance and to bring joy to those around her.
Mayukha strives to maintain a close connection with Kuchipudi dance and its ancient culture to preserve Kuchipudi in its purest form.
Mayukha is a multi-talented artist. She has passed CM level 8 in her piano, sings Carnatic vocal, and is skilled in one-stroke art. Mayukha plays the saxophone, recently picked up percussion, and enjoys performing sax duets with her brother. Her hobbies consist of baking, cooking and trying new foods. Her favorite pass time is to cuddle with her cute dog, Ziggy!
